Scrapped...

E-mail Print PDF

First let me say thank you to anyone who's been coming back to check on the site. I've been an awful webmaster for about the past year and haven't delivered a new chapter since last August, and you've been incredibly loyal visitors.

For any of the regulars, you've probably noticed that Lilith's Amulet is now down to about a post per year.

There's a reason for that.

I read Lilith's Amulet now, and I can't see the story I saw when I started it four years ago. While there's a lot of things I still like about it, I can't find any cohesion between anything in the big picture. 20-something chapters allowed the story to get really out of control, and without a solid outline I was not only building bridges that led nowhere--I couldn't even build the path to nowhere in a straight line. :P

Lilith looks more like a prototype to me now, a kind of sandbox story where I'm testing character interactions and supernatural scenarios, but nothing that happens really matters.

With that--it's time for the reset button. I'll no longer be updating the stories that are currently here. They'll remain posted--no reason for me to pull down the content--but the caveat, fair reader, is that you're heading to a bridge forever under contruction. :|

I DO have plans to reboot the story, though I haven't made any outlines or decided on what to keep, what to toss, what to change. I'm working on some other serials right now on my other fiction site, and I don't plan to get back to this until I finish a couple of those projects. The good news is that two of those serials are approaching completion, so my work on the reboot might start as soon as this summer.

As I'm sure many of you know, I also run another fiction site over at CollapsingFiction.com (currently down) with an offshoot at Adult.CollpsingFiction.com (up, running, and recently updated). I've been spending most of my creative writing capital over there lately, so check it out if you're so inclined.

Again, thank you for all the repeat visits over the last year. I apologize for the absenteeism. Check back sometime in mid-July, we might be all reset and ready for a new and improved telling of The Eos Chronicles.

Lilith Update (finally!)

E-mail Print PDF

Hey Gang,

I let the whole first half of the year go by without posting an update (and my last update said March 30, I know), but chapter 22 has been posted. I have a lot of other projects going right now, but I was finally inspired to finish the most recent chapter (most of which, coincidentally, was written in January or February). Lilith's Amulet will probably wrap with the next half-dozen chapters, and I promise chapter 23 will arrive way sooner than next February. :D

New Guest Contribution

E-mail Print PDF

Hey everyone, I just added a new guest author contribution. It's a short vignette that goes along with Lilith's Amulet. The addition directed my attention back to chapter 22, which I ought to put a due date on. Thanks for faithfully checking back for updates; I'm going to do my part and promise you a new chapter of Lilith's Amulet by March 30th.

In the meantime, enjoy the update! You can access it from the menu on the left or from the Lilith's Amulet Master Menu on top.

My fault!

E-mail Print PDF

I'm really sorry! I'm terrible with database migration, and as a result, the user list went bye-bye. If you find you can't sign in, you can re-register with your old credentials. If you tried before and couldn't register under the same email, try again. There was a records issue preventing you from using the same credentials to register another account. More database stuff that I screwed up. :(

Um, anyway--I haven't worked on chapter 22 since around the first of the year (which is when I promised it would be done), mostly because I've been spending time seeding other websites. CollapsingFiction.com is up, running, and looking for contributors. If you like terribly strange music that post-teenagers recorded in their basements, check out EmperorMilsot.com, which only holds two songs right now, but is going to serve as my 2003-2005 recording archive.

Yikes, what a tangent. I'm going to get relevance demerits for this one.

Thanks for coming back, and I'm sorry for deleting the user accounts! n00b 3RR0R!

Patriarchy Descends...

E-mail Print PDF

The time is the present. The world is our own...but with one difference.

When cosmic beings calling themselves "Goddesses" descend on Earth, they seek out representatives to alter the course of human history. Their gifts to these representatives come in the form of artifacts: eleven decorated pieces, each containing a link to a supernatural energy source which allows a user of the artifact to alter reality.

The Goddesses' motive? Restore balance to terran development so that humankind might one day join an ancient universal union known as the "Pantheon of Enlightenment." Though the planet's dominant species has come far in the last 40,000 years, the goddesses' representatives are told that if humanity is left to its current course of action, it is--at best--doomed to repeat the same mistakes wrought by greed and fear, and--at worst--plunging itself headlong into self-destruction.

Their plan? Shift the balance of power. The eleven artifacts offer their power to anyone who should come in contact with them, with one catch--the user must be a woman.

Now, as the female half of humanity is given dominion through cosmic ability, will they lead humankind into a glorious new age of renaissance, or does absolute power corrupt absolutely--no matter the being holding it?
